Tao Restaurant is a swanky Asian fusion joint on the fabulous Las Vegas strip.
Typically, a group of girlfriends and myself can be found here on a Thursday at least once a month for it's incredible comped dinner for gals. Yes you read that right, a group of women can get a free dinner at Tao on Thursdays.  Make sure you tip the waiter though. If you want access to this comped dinner, contact my buddy Dom here. If he gets you in, make sure to tip him as well.
On one extravagant non-Thursday night, some of my friends went to Tao for a friend's birthday.

The waiter came to greet us, and I recognized him from one of my comped dinners. He explained to the table family style was recommended. Of course this style of eating can be daunting for someone with Celiac disease, or anyone with food allergies. However the waiter was able to recommend a plethora of gluten free menu items. Also, every time a menu item was brought out, the waiter specified which items were and were not gluten free and always set the gluten free items closest to me.
There were so many dishes ordered, and I was glad I was able to safely enjoy many of the items.
First up was the sushi. They separated the gluten free nigiri, salmon, tuna, and yellowtail, from the non-gluten free nigiri, soy sauced smothered eel. Being a big, hungry group, the sushi was inhaled in less than 5 minutes. Then came the hot entrée items.

My favorite was the Crispy Coconut Shrimp with Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce. It was perfectly crispy on the outside, with a moist shrimp on the inside, and the sauce was an excellent combination of sweet, coconut-y, and spicy. I could probably eat this dish everyday for the rest of my life without complaint.

The Diver Sea Scallops with Red Curry and Thai Basil was also delightful, with the curry being more on the mild side, mimicking a Thai panang curry .
The waiter also added a Pad Thai dish, to ensure I had something to eat. It was amazing, but was not the star of the show compared to the above two dishes.
Although the dinner is pricey, I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone looking for superior Asian fusion food with plenty of gluten free options.
